Kind, bright, and very energetic. Firemen love to pat your little head. |

| *sniffle*! I'm getting over a cold and my head no longer feels so far away from my body as it did on friday. I haven't been sick in a year, but of course my parents have to go and start talking about me, saying how I'm always with a cold and that they worry about me.. ugh! why do parents always do that? They take one thing that happens and make it seem like it goes on ALL the time.
Anyway, I really got sick on friday.. unfortunately that's when dev and i hung out, and then saturday was our anniversary. It really hit me hard then. But he was completely wonderful and supportive and even managed to fit an entire roll of toilet paper into my purse somehow so i wouldn't need to get up to go to the bathroom every five seconds.. lol wait that sounds bad, it was for my nose! i swear! you know you do it too!
My dad is in Iran right now.. He's trying to convince me to go with him and my mom next year. I don't wanna go!! I've never been there, much less out of the country at all.. I don't speak the language or even know anyone over there!! I'm trying to come up with a good excuse, but he's really persistent. He even said he'd pay for Devin's ticket to go along with us! arrgg!! can you imagine me and devin in Iran? We would go insane.. Either that or we'd get thrown into jail for feeling each other up on the street or something..we would so forget where we were. lol.
Speaking of travelling, everyone is leaving california! Cecilia went to boston, brenna is well, pretty much everywhere, and laura's now almost sure to move to Texas.. And carla's staying in CA but she's moving to San Francisco right? I know michelle's got that dream of a farm in Maryland, for some strange reason :) How funny that we're all getting scattered about. I think Nancy is moving to New York too. I have to call her to be sure..
oh btw, devin was right about the manchurian candidate.. it is such a twisted psychotic movie, it was great!! best movie i've seen in a while. that one scene with the mother... *shudder*..
anyway, just wanted to post to say hi and let y'all know i'm alive.. uh oh, it's laura's texas twang rubbing off..

| I don't think going to disneyland was ever more of an ordeal for anybody EVER! this is a warning for you all, don't ever ever ever get directions to disneyland from yahoo. The stupid thing told us to go in the completely opposite direction! We were supposed to take the 91 East and it told us to take the 91 West.. we ended up in torrence on artesia blvd cause the freaking freeway ended.
So we then proceed to drive around for like 45 minutes and the whole time i keep wanting to stop at a gas station and ask for directions.. but devin doesn't want to. What the heck is up w/ guys not wanting to ask for directions? I don't understand!!! But he was getting as frustrated as i was so he finally pulled over and i got directions from this chick. So we're supposed to be looking for the 110 S. fwy but we never find it! So we drive around for like another 20 minutes.. it's now been like an hour and 10 mins.. we finally find artesia blvd again and get to the 91 east fwy.. lol we're all trying to figure out if we were going to right direction on artesia blvd by looking at the sun to see if we were heading east or west..
anyway, we finally made it to the park after 2 hours of being on the road and we were all achy and irritable when we walked out to the park. So we're waiting in line to get in, and there is this family in front of us, who were all missing their teeth except for the yellowed rotten ones that were left in the front. And they were just having the best time cackling out loud and there's devin just staring at them horrified (he's so not slick) and me trying to avoid looking directly at them because i didn't want them to see the tears of laughter dancing in my eyes.. and then of course the woman has to go and tell me she likes my necklace and that emerald is her birthstone, even though she was born in february. lol and i have to force my teary eyes to look her in the eye instead of at the bright orange tooth screaming at me from her mouth.. and then we have to walk away, with devin going, Good God! Did you see their teeth!? and them not being more than 5 feet away..
So the first ride we get on is star tours (naturally) and there are these 2 women in front of us and a family with a baby behind us.. We're standing there in line inside the room w/ the robots chatting happily when all of the sudden this cold whiff of the stench of death comes floating up our noses.. omg, we didn't know what to do w/ ourselves.. and we were in a confined space so its not like it had anywhere to go! we couldn't figure out if it was the baby or the 2 women, so we figured it was the baby, cause thats what babies do best, right? lol so we edge closer to the 2 women, and yet another whiff attacks us, and then comes around and doubles it's strength! it was like it had a mind of its own!! lol so we're just spasming now and trying not to laugh too hard, when devin goes and says, good god! it's like being behind a school bus! lol!! i end up losing control and letting out a big squeak, so i dunno if they knew we were laughing at them or not.. but oh it was horrible..
LOL the real kicker of the day came at the end, when we were getting on the tram to go back to the parking structure. I get on first and go all the way down, and i notice that there is this gigantic brown beetle with huge legs sitting in the middle of the bench. So i'm thinkin, there's not way i'm sitting next to that! so i scoot as far down as possible.. lol so hear comes devin and he's gonna sit next to me, when he notices the bug. Anyone who knows devin knows that he, and me too actually, have really bad bug phobia. So he starts having a fit and practically sitting in my lap to get away from the thing, and the both of us are just staring in horror at the bug trying to figure out what we were gonna do about it, cause we didn't want it crawling on us during the ride to the structure. Just then, this young asian girl comes on, looks right at the bug, and proceeds to place her ass right on it! She sat on the bug!! and this thing was HUGE, so you know she felt something.. LOL we were both afraid it was gonna come crawling out from under her ass so we kept letting out these little squeals. I swear she must have thought we were escapees from a mental hospital.. especially cause devin kept staring at her leg from out of the corner of her eye and going, eeewwwwwww!!! and there was me clutching him like we were gonna die. lol either that or she thought we were racist and didn't want her sitting next to us.. i sincerely hope she just thought we were crazy.. that would suck if she thought it was personal.
anyway, we went to denny's after that and went back to his house where we found a birthday card from brenna awaiting him.. what's up w/ that? my birthday was the day before his and i didn't get a card!!? lol i'm just kidding.. no pressure brenna :P
anyway, i got hom at 12:30 and woke up 6 hours later to go to work. I am SO tired.. i'm gonna go nap and wash my car later.. and maybe make some pina colada cake? yummy!

| So today I went to the L.A. Zoo on a field trip with the class I'm working with. It was so cool!! I hadn't been there in ages! I think the last time I went was when I was like 7 years old or something, and I don't even really remember anything about it except that I was hot and tired..
The animals were really cute, specially the giraffes and the chimpanzees.. awwww I think I want me a chimp!! Dev, watch out! we're gonna have to figure out a way to make the chimp and the bear get along.. lol And the giraffes were cool too, they were only a few feet away from us. I know they're huge animals, but when you really get up close to them you just feel like a tiny little bug that they can squash w/ one hoove. Looking at the lions was kinda sad though, they looked all skinny and deprived of any activity.. And the polar bear died so we couldn't see that.. so of course the teacher lied to the kids and told them it went on vacation. LOL
Later we went to Griffith Park to have lunch, and that was nice too cause i hadn't been there in a long time either.. Ahh.. I sure got a new memory to replace the old one! The minute we get there we set up camp next to a bum (or a whino... probably a whino) who was sleeping on a bench about 10 feet away. He was topless and nearly bottomless. His entire ass was hanging out the top of his pants, and he did NOT have any underwear on!!!! It was so traumatizing, the kids were all loud about being grossed out, so of course we had to move.. But the other class that was with us just stayed and ate near the naked dude.. eww. The view alone was enough to make one lose their appetite!
The real kicker of the day came at the end.. The whole day I was hanging out with the autistic girl in our class, cause she's really cute to watch and fun to study.. Anyway, she had this camera with her, and she was really excited about taking pictures with it. So I had other kids move out of the way to let her get prime shots of the animals, I made a real effort to get her as close as possible and gave her lighting tips and everything.. At the end of the day, after all the pictures are taken, I tell her that I'd like to see the pictures when she gets them developed.. And she's like, pictures? what pictures? I was just pretending!! lol!! wha? there was no film/batteries in the camera.. After all the effort I had gone through practically pushing other children out of her way, she tells me she was just pretending!! ah... the joy of working with special kids.. lol you almost forget and think they're normal! and then little things like this come along and snap ya right back to reality.

Natalia, you are mildly left-hemisphere dominant while showing a slight preference for auditory processing. This overall combination seems to indicate a well-working blend of logic and judgment and organization, with sufficient intuition, perception and creativity to balance that dominance.
You will at times experience conflict between how you feel and what you think which will generally be resolved in favor of what you think. You will find yourself interested in the practical applications of whatever material you have learned or whatever situation you face and will retain the ability to refine whatever knowledge you possess or aspects of whatever position you are in.
By and large, you will orient yourself toward intellectual activities and structure. Though not rigid, you will schedule yourself, plan, and focus on routine and continuity of operations, rather than on changes and disruptions
When changes or disruptions occur, you are likely to consider first how to ensure that such disruptions do The same balance is reflected in your sensory preference. You will tend to be reflective and measured in your interaction style. For the most part, you will be considered objective without being cold and goal-oriented while retaining the capacity to listen to others.
Preferentially you learn by listening and maintaining significant internal dialogues with yourself. Nevertheless, you have sufficient visualization capabilities to benefit from using graphs, charts, doodles, or even body movement to enhance your comprehension and memory.
To the extent that you are even implicitly aware of your hemispheric dominance and sensory style, you will feel most comfortable in those arenas which emphasize verbal skills and logic. Teaching, law, and science are those that stand out among the professions, along with technical sales and management.
huh.. well that's cool to know, since i'll be taking all those science classes! :P | | | |
